Charector Study Easu
Major points in his life
His birth Gen 25:22-26 – Reading this portion we can see Gods divine plan in his birth.
His Youth Gen 25:27-28 – Esau was a man of field (energy, passion, vigor, courage are part of a man of field) and the Bible says he is a skillful hunter. But Jacob was mama’s boy leaving in tents. We can see favoritism playing a part in their lives, Jacob being loved by Rebekah and Esau by Isaac.
His Carelessness Gen 25:29-34 – Esau despised his birthright, he was sensual, for a short appetite, he decided to forgo the birthright. See the birthright was an important one in those days, When we studied Abraham we learned that as he was planning to appoint Eleazer of Damascus as his heir God told him that he will give him an heir, When Abraham thought that Ishmael will be his heir, God promised a child thru the free woman Sarah. Moreover you can see across the Bible our God proclaimed as God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (not Esau, Esau despised such a great privilege of his birthright).
His Carelessness Gen 26:34-35 – These verses shows the carelessness of Esau, He didn’t cared for his parents and instead of marrying according to their wishes, he married the heathen.
Time of Blessing came – Gen 27:1-4 Request of Father foe food and the Esau obeys completely Gen 27:30-31.
The Plan of Rebekah – as she tried to do the will of God according to her ideas, please read it Gen 27:5-17
Esau’s arrival and sorrow – Gen 27:30-41, the verse 34 and 38 shows the sorrow of Esau Gen 27:34 When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out with an exceedingly great and bitter cry, and said to his father, "Bless me, {even} me also, O my father!"
Gen 27:38 Esau said to his father, "Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless
me, {even} me also, O my father." So Esau lifted his voice and wept.
A man of young age crying aloud why? For that u need to compare the blessings that Jacob stole from Esau and what Esau was left with
Blessing of Jacob
Gen 27:28 Now may God give you of the dew of heaven, And of the fatness of the earth, And an abundance of grain and new wine;
Gen 27:29 May peoples serve you, And nations bow down to you; Be master of your brothers, And may your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be those who curse you, And blessed be those who bless you."
Blessing of Esau
Gen 27:39 Then Isaac his father answered and said to him, "Behold, away from the fertility of the earth shall be your dwelling, And away from the dew of heaven from above.
Gen 27:40 "By your sword you shall live, And your brother you shall serve; But it shall come about when you become restless, That you will break his yoke from your neck."
Esau anger– Gen 27:41-45- Causing the family to rift and Jacob has to flee.
20 years past Jacob returning– Gen 32:3-6
Good nature of Esau – Pls go thru Gen 33:4,9,12,15 , see how much caring, forgiving, loving person is Esau, even when Jacob has stolen from him every thing.
Learning’s
When our God gives us opportunity its for us to use and grow in the Lord, but at times we become careless and take things for granted. Let see the great person Paul how he used his opportunities Gal 4:13 but you know that it was because of a bodily illness that I preached the gospel to you the first time; Paul used even used the opportunity of sharing the gospel when he was ill.
Lets all look into ourselves and how faithful are we in our little things for the Lord, how we are ready for the Lord, Are we using the opportunities he is giving us to grow in him, Are we serious about his commission are we serious about our commitment to Lord and others or like Easu we are despising the birthright which he has given us and we take things granted (John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, {even} to those who believe in His name,).
Another thought I would like to share is From the parable of Foolish Virginss and Parable of Dragnet, Are we alert, or else at the end we will be crying out like Esau but the time will be late. As in parable of talents are we using our talents for propagating his kingdom or are we playing…?
Let the Holy Spirit provide you more ideas and thoughts as you meditate and study his word
God is Son
When John brought his gospel to a close, he observed that if everything about Christ was to be put down in writing ‘the world itself could not contain the books that would be written’. John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they *were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself *would not contain the books that *would be written.
(1) His coming was anticipated
Deut 18:15-18 "The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him. "This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, or I will die.' "The LORD said to me, 'They have spoken well. 'I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
Is 40:11 Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His arm He will gather the lambs And carry {them} in His bosom; He will gently lead the nursing {ewes.}
Zech 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout {in triumph,} O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Ps 110:4 The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind, "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek." For more Read Is 52:13- Is 53:12
(2) His life was predicted
Micah 5:2 "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, {Too} little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."
Is 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To grant those who mourn {in} Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.
Ps 22:16-18 For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones. They look, they stare at me; They divide my garments among them, And for my clothing they cast lots.
Ps 69:21 They also gave me gall for my food And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Of course, the OT prophecies do not finish at the cross. They look on to the vindication of Christ’s Son ship and the completion of his saving activity as they anticipate the resurrection.
Is 53:10-12 But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting {Him} to grief; If He would render Himself {as} a guilt offering, He will see {His} offspring, He will prolong {His} days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see {it and} be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors. Acts 4:10-12 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by this {name} this man stands here before you in good health.
"He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, {but} WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER {stone.}”. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." For more read Acts 2:24-36; 3:21-26;
(3) His sacrifice was portrayed
John 19:36 For these things came to pass to fulfill the Scripture, "NOT A BONE OF HIM SHALL BE BROKEN.";
1 Cor 5:6-8 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump {of dough?} Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are {in fact} unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
1 Pet 1:18-19 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, {the blood} of Christ.
John 1:29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Heb 13:12-13 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
1 Pet 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.;

(4) His activity was described
It is important to note that there are narratives in the OT which clearly suggest about theophanies (as the divine appearance described) we have an account of the activity of the pre existent Christ Josh 5:13-15 Now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, "Are you for us or for our adversaries?" He said, "No; rather I indeed come now {as} captain of the host of the LORD." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, "What has my lord to say to his servant?" The captain of the LORD'S host said to Joshua, "Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so.
The fourth men who appeared in the flames as the three Hebrew loyalists were cast in to furnace Dan 3:24-25 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, "Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?" They replied to the king, "Certainly, O king." He said, "Look! I see four men loosed {and} walking {about} in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of {the} gods!" as manifestation of the Lord himself.
1 Cor 10:4 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.

God is Holy Spirit
OT and NT speaks of the Person Holy Spirit Lets go through Gen 1 & John 14,15,16
Holy Spirit is a person
He is a real Person, some may think that he is a person or an influence or just a power. He is not an impersonal force. He is personal being. We will see it from scriptures.
Jesus called him Comforter: We can’t call a force Comforter. The very name given Him by the Lord definitely implies personality John 14:26
John 16:7-14. “He was spoken with a _______”, John 16:13 “He ____”, John 14:26 “He will _______, _______”,
Acts 13:2 “He _____” Rom 8:14 “He ______” Rom 8:26 “He _____________ for us” Rom 15:30 “He ________”
Acts 16:6 “He _____” 1 Cor 2:10 “He _____” 1 Cor 2:11 “He _____” 1 Cor 12:11 “He _____”
Acts 5:3 “_________ Holy Spirit” Acts 7:57 “__________ Holy Spirit” Eph 4:20 “__________ Holy Spirit”
Matt 12:31 “________________Holy Spirit”
These are the things some are attributed to an emotion and emotion belongs to a personality and others are all functionalities of a person
What sort of a person he is? He is a Divine Person
He is equal to power and glory to the Father and Son. If he is God, he is to be equally worshipped as the Father and he is revealed as the one who has the same attributes belonging to God.

His work
In relation to the individual’s life
He makes a person a new creation
John 3:5 -8Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. "Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

He gives revelation, faith to a man born of Spirit 1 Cor 2:9-14
He sanctifies the life of a Christian
Rom 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
1 Cor 6:11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. Read 9,10
Gal 5:16-25 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Read more 2 Thess 2:13
He leads a Believer
Especially where to tell and not tell the Gospel
Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go up and join this chariot."
Acts 10:19 While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are looking for you.
Acts 11:12 "The Spirit told me to go with them without misgivings. These six brethren also went with me and we entered the man's house.
Acts 16:7 and after they came to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them;
Rom 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
He intercedes
Rom 8:26-27 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for {us} with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to {the will of} God.

Attribute of God – Omniscient
(Ps 147:5 Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.)
The All powerful God is fully aware of everything. He is not limited, as man is, by ignorance and uncertainty. We are all ignorant –in different subjects.
All things visible:
Heb 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Ps 139:3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Perfect Knowledge:
The knowledge of our God is perfect. Job 36:4 "For truly my words are not false; One who is perfect in knowledge is with you. Ps 73:11 They say, "How does God know? And is there knowledge with the Most High?"
Watch on Nations:
He does not continue His interest to the nation Israel Alone. Before the prophet exposes the sins of Judah and Israel he shows the people that God has seen all the atrocities of their neighbors even the sins which did not even in anyway affect the people of the Northern Kingdom: Ps 66:7 He rules by His might forever; His eyes keep watch on the nations; Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah Amos 2:1 Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not revoke its {punishment,} Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime. Amos 1:6 Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Gaza and for four I will not revoke its {punishment,} Because they deported an entire population To deliver {it} up to Edom. Prov 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Watching the evil and the good. For more read : Amos 1:9; Amos 2:4,5; Amos 2:6-16;
God of Knowledge:
He is a God of knowledge and by him actions are weighed 1 Sam 2:3. He weighs our actions as per him. The perfect human Jesus Christ can weigh each action of us.
Illustration: When Isaac Newton became old some one said to him, you must have a tremendous knowledge. Newton replied that he is like a little boy walking by the seashore picking up shells.
Know us individually:
He calls upon each person and knows them individually. 2 Sam 7:20 "Again what more can David say to You? For You know Your servant, O Lord GOD! Job 34:21 "For His eyes are upon the ways of a man, And He sees all his steps. Jer 12:3 But You know me, O LORD; You see me; And You examine my heart's {attitude} toward You. Drag them off like sheep for the slaughter And set them apart for a day of carnage!
Discerns our hearts:
He discerns our secrets and before him it’s all revealed. Is 29:15-16 Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the LORD, And whose deeds are {done} in a dark place, And they say, "Who sees us?" or "Who knows us?" You turn {things} around! Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay, That what is made would say to its maker, "He did not make me"; Or what is formed say to him who formed it, "He has no understanding"? Is 47:10 "You felt secure in your wickedness and said, 'No one sees me,' Your wisdom and your knowledge, they have deluded you; For you have said in your heart, 'I am, and there is no one besides me.' Ps 44:21 Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. 1 Kin 8:39 then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know, for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men,
This is what his going to happen when God judges: Rom 2:16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus. 1 Cor 3:13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is {to be} revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work.
For more: Ps 73:11; Acts 1:24; Acts 15:8; 1 Cor 4:15
Reads our thoughts:
Our God reads our thoughts before we approach him. Matt 6:6-8 "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees {what is done} in secret will reward you. "And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. "So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. 1 John 3:20 in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things. Ps 139:4 Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all. For more: Matt 6:18; Jer 17:16; Jer 20:12
Realizes our limitation:
Our God knows everything about us and he can realize our limitations. Ps 139:13-16 For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, {And} skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained {for me,} When as yet there was not one of them. Ps 103:14 For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are {but} dust.
Sees our troubles:
We worship a God who sees our troubles and cares for us. Ex 2:24-25 So God heard their groaning; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice {of them.} Ex 3:7 The LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. Hos 13:5 I cared for you in the wilderness, In the land of drought. Jer 24:6 'For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land; and I will build them up and not overthrow them, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.
1 Pet 5:7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. For more: Deut 31:21; Deut 11:12;
Uncovers our sins:
Our God is a Holy God who hates sin and he uncovers sins. The army of Israel is defeated at Ai due to the sin of Achan: Josh 7:10-26. Job 11:11 "For He knows false men, And He sees iniquity without investigating. Jer 16:17 "For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity concealed from My eyes. Jer 23:24 "Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?" declares the LORD. "Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?" declares the LORD.
1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
Knows our faith:
So as we come before God Lets not be hypocrites making a show of our faith but let’s be true to our heart. Now lets us look and see how God has called us and how we are responding to such a call
2 Tim 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
So we are called 1 Pet 1:2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
For more read Rom 8:29; Eph 1:5; Eph 1:11-12
So now on lets walk a life with knowing the fact that God is a God of knowledge who watch us individually, discerns our hearts, reads our thoughts, realizes our limitation, sees our troubles, uncovers our sins and knows our faith.
God is Father
God is Father
Most of us find comfort and security is the concept of God’s divine Fatherhood.
Jesus refers to God in prayer as ‘Father’
Matt 11:25 At that time Jesus said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from {the} wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Luke 11:2 And He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Luke 22:42 saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done." Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. Luke 23:46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT." Having said this, He breathed His last. John 11:41 So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
And encourages believers to address God in this way
Matt 6:9 "Pray, then, in this way: 'Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Luke 11:2 And He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.
Jesus describes the Father as
HOLY
John 17:11 "I am no longer in the world; and {yet} they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, {the name} which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We {are.}
RIGHTEOUS
John 17:25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me;
LOVING John 16:27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.
LIVING
John 6:57 "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me.
OMNIPOTENT
Mark 14:36 And He was saying, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will."
FORGIVING
Matt 6:14 "For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Luke 15:21-23 "And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' "But the father said to his slaves, 'Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate;
MERCIFUL
Luke 6:36 "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
PERFECT
Matt 5:48 "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
OMNISCENT
Matt 6:4 so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees {what is done} in secret will reward you. Matt 6:8 "So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Matt 6:18 so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees {what is done} in secret will reward you.
GENEROUS
Matt 5:45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on {the} evil and {the} good, and sends rain on {the} righteous and {the} unrighteous. Matt 7:11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will {your} heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
In the teaching of Jesus,
The Father reveals truth
Matt 16:17 And Jesus said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal {this} to you, but My Father who is in heaven. Luke 10:21 At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from {the} wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.

Unique Relationship between the Father and the Son (The incarnation of Christ)
Father determines the precise movement of his Son’s return Matt 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Mark 13:32 "But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father {alone.} Acts 1:7 He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;
Jesus said,
He had seen the Father, John 6:46 "Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father.
He had knew the Father, John 10:15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep,
He had loved the Father, John 14:31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.
He had honoured the Father, John 8:49 Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon; but I honour My Father, and you dishonour Me.
He had been taught by him John 8:28 So Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am {He,} and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. John 15:15 "No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
He manifested and declared him to others John 14:6-11 Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." Philip *said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus *said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and {yet} you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how {can} you say, 'Show us the Father'? "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves..
The many ‘Signs’ he performed before men were ‘good works from the Father’ John 10:32 Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" John 10:37 "If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;

Attribute of God – Merciful
In our English version it is variously translated as ‘mercy’ , ‘kindness’ , ‘loving kindness’ , ‘steadfast love’. The word really indicates the kind of compassion one would expect from someone to whom you were bound in covenant or agreement. It has sometimes being translated as ‘covenant-love.
Through the centuries Christian people have acknowledged the undeserved goodness of a “gracious and merciful God” and have reminded one another that ‘Our God is merciful’
Is 63:7 I shall make mention of the loving-kindness of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, According to all that the LORD has granted us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has granted them according to His compassion And according to the abundance of His loving-kindness.
Ex 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness and truth;
2 Chr 30:9 "For if you return to the LORD, your brothers and your sons {will find} compassion before those who led them captive and will return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate, and will not turn {His} face away from you if you return to Him."
Neh 9:31 "Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or forsake them, For You are a gracious and compassionate God.
Deut 4:31 "For the LORD your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.
Ps 116:5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate.
He is ‘the Father of mercies’
2 Cor 1:3 Blessed {be} the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
David realizes that Gods mercy is ‘very great’. He would rather fall into the merciful ‘hand of the Lord’ than the hand of the man
2 Sam 24:14 Then David said to Gad, "I am in great distress. Let us now fall into the hand of the LORD for His mercies are great, but do not let me fall into the hand of man."
1 Chr 21:13 David said to Gad, "I am in great distress; please let me fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are very great. But do not let me fall into the hand of man."
God’s Mercy is shown to those who least deserve it.
Neh 9:18-19 "Even when they made for themselves A calf of molten metal And said, 'This is your God Who brought you up from Egypt,' And committed great blasphemies, You, in Your great compassion, Did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, To guide them on their way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go.
Neh 9:27 "Therefore You delivered them into the hand of their oppressors who oppressed them, But when they cried to You in the time of their distress, You heard from heaven, and according to Your great compassion You gave them deliverers who delivered them from the hand of their oppressors.
Men can’t demand it and they cannot earn it
Ex 33:19 And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion."
God’s mercy is reliable, trust worth and pure
Ps 119:58 I sought Your favor with all {my} heart; Be gracious to me according to Your word.
Ps 119:132 Turn to me and be gracious to me, After Your manner with those who love Your name.
Mal 3:6 "For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.
James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
Is 54:10 "For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My loving-kindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken," Says the LORD who has compassion on you.
Jer 31:20 "Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly {still} remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him," declares the LORD.
God’s mercy is universal
The Lord Jesus described his Father as One who was kind to the ungrateful and the selfish
Luke 6:35 "But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil {men.}
We are reminded in the New Testament epistles that the path of prayer is the way to mercy and in our personal experience the new faith is the outcome of God’s great mercy.
Heb 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
1 Pet 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to {obtain} an inheritance {which is} imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
God’s Everlasting Loving-kindness
The Lord always keeps His covenant because he is faithful. He will not fail in this part
1 Chr 16:34 O give thanks to the LORD, for {He is} good; For His loving-kindness is everlasting.
1 Chr 16:41 With them {were} Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because His loving-kindness is everlasting.

Attribute of God – Righteous
- Far more than doing right or being upright in a moral sense , though it is obviously intended
- God is known for what He is by what he does
In the Bible Gods righteousness is seen to be:
(1) Unique
Is 45:24 "They will say of Me, 'Only in the LORD are righteousness and strength.' Men will come to Him, And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.
Ps 143:2 And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no man living is righteous.
(2) Consistent
Ps 145:17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways And kind in all His deeds.

Is 51:6-8 "Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane. "Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A people in whose heart is My law; Do not fear the reproach of man, Nor be dismayed at their revilings. "For the moth will eat them like a garment, And the grub will eat them like wool. But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation to all generations."

Is 56:1 Thus says the LORD, "Preserve justice and do righteousness, For My salvation is about to come And My righteousness to be revealed.
The New Testament doctrine of salvation has to be seen against this rich Old Testament background
Rom 3:25-26 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. {This was} to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, {I say,} of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Rom 10:3 For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
1 Cor 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
2 Cor 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin {to be} sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
(b) Promises
Neh 9:8 "You found his heart faithful before You, And made a covenant with him To give {him} the land of the Canaanite, Of the Hittite and the Amorite, Of the Perizzite, the Jebusite and the Girgashite-- To give {it} to his descendants. And You have fulfilled Your promise, For You are righteous.

(h) Justice
2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Attribute of God - Omnipresent
Our God is not a localized God. The Hebrew like other near eastern people, were always in danger of thinking of God as a God of the Land. Their neighbors believed that their gods ruled over their territories.
2 Kin 5:17 Naaman said, "If not, please let your servant at least be given two mules' load of earth; for your servant will no longer offer burnt offering nor will he sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD.
John 4:20 "Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you {people} say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship." John 4:24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
If marked contrast to this tribal-god thinking, the Old Testament asserts that God is everywhere
Ps 139:7-10 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me. Amos 9:2-4 "Though they dig into Sheol, From there will My hand take them; And though they ascend to heaven, From there will I bring them down.”Though they hide on the summit of Carmel, I will search them out and take them from there; And though they conceal themselves from My sight on the floor of the sea, From there I will command the serpent and it will bite them. "And though they go into captivity before their enemies, From there I will command the sword that it slay them, And I will set My eyes against them for evil and not for good." Acts 17:28 for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we also are His children.'
Concept which says God is in everything is wrong, but Bible says about his presence which is everywhere .He is the one who dwells in the holies and also with the humble and contrite of spirit.
Is 57:15 For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell {on} a high and holy place, And {also} with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite. Matt 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Is 66:1 Thus says the LORD, "Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?
(a) These Individuals were experiencing the mighty power of God all through their life (both during the time of prosperity and during difficult times).
Jacob: Gen 28:16-17 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it." He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."
Joseph: Gen 39:2-3 The LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. Now his master saw that the LORD was with him and {how} the LORD caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.;
Gen 39:8-10 But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Behold, with me {here,} my master does not concern himself with anything in the house, and he has put all that he owns in my charge. "There is no one greater in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great evil and sin against God?" As she spoke to Joseph day after day, he did not listen to her to lie beside her {or} be with her.;
Gen 39:21-23 But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer. The chief jailer committed to Joseph's charge all the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible {for it.} The chief jailer did not supervise anything under Joseph's charge because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made to prosper.
Moses: Ex 33:14 And He said, "My presence shall go {with you,} and I will give you rest."
Ex 34:5-5 The LORD descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the LORD. Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness and truth;

David: Ps 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. Ps 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Jeremiah: Jer 1:8-9 "Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD. Jer 15:20 "Then I will make you to this people A fortified wall of bronze; And though they fight against you, They will not prevail over you; For I am with you to save you And deliver you," declares the LORD. Jer 20:11 But the LORD is with me like a dread champion; Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed, With an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten.
(b) God always comforted Israelis when ever they are in difficulties by giving messages through the prophets
Deut 1:30 'The LORD your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, Deut 9:3 "Know therefore today that it is the LORD your God who is crossing over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and He will subdue them before you, so that you may drive them out and destroy them quickly, just as the LORD has spoken to you.
Deut 31:6-8 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you." Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance.”The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
Is 8:10 "Devise a plan, but it will be thwarted; State a proposal, but it will not stand, For God is with us."
Jer 23:24 "Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?" declares the LORD. "Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?" declares the LORD.
Deut 23:14 "Since the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp to deliver you and to defeat your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy; and He must not see anything indecent among you or He will turn away from you.
(c) Our God still works among the believers bringing forth from us Gal 5:22- the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; The word of God says he will neither leave us nor forsake provided we should John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither {can} you unless you abide in Me.
Josh 1:5 "No man will {be able to} stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.
Is 57:15 For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell {on} a high and holy place, And {also} with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.
Heb 13:5 {Make sure that} your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,"

Attribute of God – Love
Love is an expression of Gods very nature. He is love and he loves us 1 John 4:16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Gods love for the Hebrews
God did not choose the Hebrews because they were great or mighty, but because he loved them. Deut 7:7-8 "The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
He loved them when they were disobedient and in rebellion Hos 11:1-4 When Israel {was} a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son. The more they called them, The more they went from them; They kept sacrificing to the Baals And burning incense to idols. Yet it is I who taught Ephraim to walk, I took them in My arms; But they did not know that I healed them. I led them with cords of a man, with bonds of love, And I became to them as one who lifts the yoke from their jaws; And I bent down {and} fed them.
